I always like to learn and try different medium to create art. Recently I have been exploring some colors and materials on fabric, which I will write about it more in different post, but for now I would like to talk about the most interesting one, Batik.
Batik is a technique of wax-resist dyeing applied to whole cloth or fabric. You can find batik in many countries such as India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Iran and many more. Even Though the technique might be quite the same but the designs and the materials are different.
Back to my story, I found out about the workshop in one the best galleries in Kuala Lumpur with nice and peaceful environment called “ The Refinery” , and I registered.
At first I thought, I am going to have a hard time learning and trying to working with the tools because it was my first time doing batik. I was prepared myself for challenge but interestingly turns out it is not that much difficult.
Not only I loved it but also I decided to continue doing it, and go for couple of more hours professional training courses.
Thanks to Ben Toh “Gallery owner” now I have some photos of the day that I can share with you:
